Cleaning
The exterior of the fire bowl is made of magnesium oxide which does not rust. However, because the inside side of the fire pit is composed of iron, it might rust if it is not properly cleaned or maintained.
To clean:
- Carefully empty the fire pit of all ash.
- Wearing safety gloves, brush the surface of the fire pit with a piece of steel wool and a pail of warm water.
- Rinse thoroughly and quickly pat dry with a soft cloth, ideally an old towel.
- The firepit should not be left outside in the rain as the inside may rust. Temporary shelter can be created with the help of a patio cover.
